Why Coneygar?

The whole team here appreciate and understand what a big step coming into care is. The feeling of loss of independence and moving out of home can be very difficult to come to terms and cope with.

As a family owned independent care home, our small & friendly team understand this and will provide the support needed, every step of the way. Providing a relaxed, friendly environment with staff that go that extra mile, sets us apart from many care homes and we welcome our residents as part of the ‘Coneygar Family’.

We provided care tailored to each individuals needs whilst promoting independence, upholding dignity and respecting privacy. With our experienced and well trained staff, we provide any assistance required 24 hours a day.

At Coneygar we pride ourselves in assisting residents to face with confidence, changes and disabilities that may confront them in the future. We provide the opportunity to continue with past interests, hobbies and relationships and to facilitate the development of new ones.

We’ve worked hard to achieve an extremely good local reputation through our goals of providing the best possible care we can to our residents and have excellent links with local health care professionals, including GPs and district nurses.

In September 2018 we were inspected by our regulatory body, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This unannounced, thorough inspection, rated us as ‘Outstanding’ overall, their highest possible rating, achieved only by a small percentage of care homes in the country:-

Some quotes from the report:-

“The service was exceptionally well led. The service benefitted from strong leadership. The registered manager was passionate about providing person centred care and this was reflected in every aspect of the service.”

“There was a 'whole team' approach which was the driving force in delivering a truly person centred service”

“ [Staff] did this by empowering residents to reconnect with past interests, making them feel valued and enabling them to ‘live life to the full’ again”

“Staff were compassionate, kind and caring and had developed good relationships with people using the service”

“Staff were highly motivated and offered care and support that was exceptionally kind and caring. Their passion was echoed by the management team, who described people [residents] and staff as "Family" and that their priority was to promote a service that is "Led by residents"

Some quotes from our residents to the inspector during the inspection:-

"On the day I moved in I knew this was going to be a lovely home to live in. I have reconnected with past interests that I never thought I would be able to do again."

"I never thought I could be happy again. But I have found peace and happiness living here. It is like I have a lovely new family."

"They [staff] know me and they know my history. I used to feel sad and lonely at home, but feel happy again now”
